Lucy R. Hattenhauer
Lucy was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. While double majoring in finance and real estate, she decided to minor in a more exciting subject—criminal justice. Lucy made the decision to go to law school and attended UNC-Chapel Hill. She knew she wanted to be a prosecutor but explored other areas of law while in school to diversify her experience. Through a couple internships with plaintiff’s employment law firms and a clerkship with the Honorable Judge Whitney in the Western District of North Carolina, Lucy engaged in civil litigation.
After law school, she worked in Mecklenburg County for a year and a half at the District Attorney’s Office. As an A.D.A, Lucy honed her trial skills in district court. She has a wide range of experience, having tried hundreds of cases, such as DWI’s, domestic violence, traffic, and weapons charges.
Now, Lucy is a part of the litigation team at Bell, Davis, & Pitt, assisting on both criminal and civil matters.
