Clara’s practice focuses on family law matters. With over a decade of legal experience, she has practiced law in North Carolina and New York. Empathetic to the needs of individuals who are going through extremely difficult circumstances, Clara is dedicated to providing diligent representation and thorough guidance to her clients in the following areas of family law:

Prior to joining Bell, Davis & Pitt, Clara worked with a small general practice law firm in Greensboro where the majority of her practice focused on family law matters. She also gained experience in general civil litigation and estate matters. Clara began her career practicing immigration law in New York City where she represented both detained and non-detained individuals in all phases of removal proceedings throughout the United States. Clara also represented clients seeking adjustment of status and naturalization before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and drafted several successful appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals and Federal Circuit Courts of the United States.
Clara currently serves as Board Chair for the Children’s Law Center of Central North Carolina, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality GAL services and a voice for children in domestic violence and high-conflict custody cases. She is also acting Secretary for the Forsyth County Women Attorneys Association.
Originally from Chicago, Clara received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and her law degree from Indiana University in Bloomington. She currently resides in Winston-Salem with her husband, Rodrigo, and their two cats. When away from the office, she enjoys traveling, needlepoint, and the occasionally successful DIY home improvement project
