We are delighted to introduce the latest member of our legal team, Lucy R. Hattenhauer. Lucy was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. While double majoring in finance and real estate, she decided to minor in a more exciting subject—criminal justice. Lucy made the decision to go to law school and attended UNC-Chapel Hill. She knew she wanted to be a prosecutor but explored other areas of law while in school to diversify her experience. Through a couple internships with plaintiff’s employment law firms and a clerkship with the Honorable Judge Whitney in the Western District of North Carolina, Lucy engaged in civil litigation.

 

After law school, she worked in Mecklenburg County for a year and a half at the District Attorney’s Office. As an A.D.A, Lucy honed her trial skills in district court. She has a wide range of experience, having tried hundreds of cases, such as DWI’s, domestic violence, traffic, and weapons charges.

Now, Lucy is a part of the litigation team at Bell, Davis, & Pitt, assisting on both criminal and civil matters.

 

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys spending time with her family (especially her parents’ whoodles), attempting to make enjoyable gluten free treats, and hitting the tennis court or driving range with her husband. Lucy loves exploring Charlotte and Greensboro on long walks with her friends. If not outside, you can find Lucy in the Pilates studio, or needlepointing while catching up on her favorite reality TV.
