Ashley V. DiMuzio
Ashley's passion for criminal law started at a young age when she got to watch a murder trial in her hometown of Whiteville, North Carolina. After that, whenever relatives or teachers in school asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she'd always answer "a trial lawyer!" As she grew older and learned more about criminal justice, she found her love for trial advocacy work focused on criminal law. She found courtroom and evidentiary procedure fascinating and dedicated her collegiate and graduate school time to learning as much as possible on the topics.
After law school, she worked in Forsyth County at the Public Defender's Office as an Assistant Public Defender for two years, honing her trial skills while helping those who need attorneys the most. She has a wide range of experience, with a background in representing clients faced with domestic violence, DWI, traffic, drug, and juvenile delinquency charges. Her love of criminal law and drive to help people continue growing every day she walks into the courtroom.
In addition to being an outspoken advocate in the courtroom, Ashley is also an adjunct professor at Wake Forest Law, where she coaches several of their trial teams, including the National Trial Lawyer’s Association Trial Team. She also volunteers her time with the pro bono clinic, helping people get their past convictions expunged, and serves as an alumni member of the Wake Forest Public Interest Law Association Board.
In law school, she was recognized by the National Board of Trial Advocacy for her excellence in courtroom procedure and trial skills and graduated with the Robert Goldberg Award for Trial Advocacy from Wake Forest University School of Law. She was also inducted into the Order of the Barristers, an honor society for those gifted in trial advocacy.
